Summer Program

Summer Program is packed full of fun! During the summer program, students pack their bags and move onto the campus of Carson Newman University for a 6 week residential program.

Students live in the dorms and take classes in English 9-12, Lit, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Cal, Trig, Biology 1 and 2, Chemistry 1 and 2, Spanish, French, and a host of electives.

Past elective choices include: Appalachian Medicine, Cooking, Scrapbooking, Romanian, Self Empowerment Art, Film Studies, DIY Crafts, The History of Boston and Salem, Sports Medicine, Business, Disney, etc...

Each week, if funding allows, the group goes to the movies, bowling, or another cultural trip.

Seniors may apply for a summer Bridge and Work-Study position. These students take actual college courses during summer program and get actual college credits! Work-Study students intern in an office located on campus, related to his or her major. These students learn valuable skills and work-ethics, complete a Work-Study course in which they interview, learn about work place professionalism etc.. all while getting paid to work on campus.

At the end of summer program, for those students who have earned the grades and other qualifications to attend the summer trip, we take an awesome culltural trip, somewhere in the United States (and not close to home).
